Towards the end of Ben Yehuda, a few steps from the Tel Aviv Port, is this delightful, trendy seafood restaurant, where diners flock to fill the tables, inside and out.
Despite the amount of seafood restaurants within a stones throw from the port, it is here that only the freshest fish is caught and served.
Once seated and it is advisable to book beforehand to ensure a table, an array of tasty salads and a basket of warm fresh bread is served, together with your drinks. There are fish starters on the menu, calamari heads, shrimp tempura or scallops, but once you have eaten the free appetisers, you feel compelled to move onto the main course of the freshly caught fish.
It is widely agreed that the main course fish dishes are not only perfectly cooked, served simply with lemon or in a complimentary sauce, but also reasonably priced. Their menu is varied and there is always a 'catch of the day' and although a renowned fish restaurant, there are a few dishes for vegetarians or children. Each plate of fish is accompanied by a baked potato and a fresh salad.
Desserts are also varied and delicious, chocolate cakes and cheesecakes, amongst the chef's creations of the day.
Shtsupak has been serving fresh fish to diners for many, many years and still they return to this stylish, unassuming restaurant for great food, friendly service and all at an affordable price for Tel Aviv.
