In 1987, Roladin was opened by two brothers Kobi and Avi Hakak, who were passionate about home baking.
They had spent many years baking from their domestic oven and selling from their doorstep, when they decided to venture into the commercial world, opening their first store in Ramat Hasharon. This became a family business, as their father built the counters and shelves in the bakery and Kobi and Avi baked breads, cakes and biscuits from old family recipes handed down through the generations.
As Roladin expanded, Kobi maintained the business as Avi became a high class confectioner, studying patisserie and confectionery in Europe. Today they have 43 outlets throughout Israel, all selling high-class baked goods and in some, serving breakfasts, coffees and pastries too.
Opposite the entrance to Sarona Food Market is poised a Roladin, serving delightful breakfasts, coffees, an array of mint or herbal teas and exquisite pastries, for shoppers wishing to take a break and relax under the canopies in the open air. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the croissant was fresh and flaky and the wholegrain bread soft and warm.
Roladin has gone from strength to strength over the years and always looking out for new ventures, yet maintaining their passion for baking.
